The total number of Bitcoin addresses ever created has exceeded 1B.

 

The Bitcoin network continues to record increased activity on its blockchain despite the asset undergoing high volatility across 2022. Part of the notable activity has centred around the number of addresses created on the network, highlighting the general market sentiment regarding the flagship cryptocurrency. 

As of July 12, the number of Bitcoin addresses ever created surpassed the one billion mark for the first time hitting 1,000,002,559, data provided by crypto analytics platform Glassnode indicates. 

Meanwhile, the number of coins that have been inactive for over 10 years has reached another ATH of 2,471,875 BTC – many analysts believe that these coins are lost forever.

 

Hyosung America makes Bitcoin purchasing app available to 175,000 ATMs.

Hyosung America has signed a partnership deal with cash-to-crypto provider DigitalMint that enables Bitcoin (BTC) purchasing across the firm’s 175,000 ATMs located in the United States.

Apart from offering its own BTC and Litecoin (LTC) payment rails such as ATMs, bank wires and tellers, DigitalMint also provides software API integrations that allow retailers or ATM operators to sell BTC through their machines.

As part of the deal, which was announced on Tuesda, Hyosung America will add DigitalMint’s crypto buying services to its upcoming API-based app store, which is being built for the firm’s ATMs.

MATIC crypto skyrockets as Polygon joins Disney accelerator

 

Polygon was selected as one of the 2022 participants for Disney’s accelerator program on Wednesday, triggering the project’s cryptocurrency MATIC to rise by more than 15%. 

  • Formerly known as Matic Network, Polygon is an Ethereum scaling and interoperability platform that allows developers to build scalable decentralized applications (dApps) with low transaction fees.

  • Polygon was selected by social media giant Meta for NFT support on Facebook. 

  • Disney’s accelerator participants will receive investment capital, access to co-working space at Disney’s creative campus in Los Angeles, and mentorship from Disney executives, entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders.

 

New York Yankees employees can get partially paid in Bitcoin with NYDIG partnership

Bitcoin (BTC) investment firm NYDIG announced a multi-year partnership with the American baseball team, the New York Yankees, on July 14 to become the team’s official Bitcoin Payroll Platform.

The deal will allow the Yankees employees to convert a portion of their paycheck to Bitcoin as part of the Bitcoin Savings Plan (BSP), NYDIG’s workplace benefits package. As part of BSP, Yankees employees do not need to pay any transaction or storage fees.

According to NYDIG research, 36% of employees under the age of 30 are interested in receiving a part of their earnings in Bitcoin, the press release said. The research also found that when choosing between identical jobs, around 1 in 3 of these employees would rather work for a company that helps them get paid in Bitcoin, the press release added.

 

Mastercard partners with crypto gateway to drive financial inclusion in Indonesia

Navin Jain, an executive at Mastercard Indonesia, said that Mastercard will support Fasset’s efforts to drive financial inclusion in the country.

Financial services firm Mastercard has partnered with crypto gateway provider Fasset to co-develop digital solutions that may drive adoption in Indonesia. The collaboration aims to expand financial inclusion in the country and extend opportunities to its local economy. 

In an announcement, Navin Jain, the country manager for Mastercard Indonesia, said that will support Fasset’s efforts to advance financial inclusion within the country. According to Jain, the partnership will help locals to have more access to digital technologies.

Samsung Launches 'Space Tycoon' Metaverse Experience

Electronics giant Samsung has announced the launch of Space Tycoon, a metaverse-based experience built as part of the Roblox world. The gaming metaverse, which is directed to entertain Gen Z users, will feature a world in which Samsung products. Big companies are now focusing part of their efforts on creating enticing metaverse-based worlds as part of their strategy. Samsung, the electronics company, is launching a metaverse world constructed as a part of the Roblox universe. The experience, called Space Tycoon, will allow users to participate as part of a space station getting resources to design and produce Samsung products.
