COMP fell 6.7% after an alleged "governance attack" on the Compound DAO.

A group called the “Golden Boys” pushed through the proposal after three previous attempts to funnel $24 million in COMP tokens into the goldCOMP revenue protocol, which would provide passive income to COMP token holders. Wintermute and other major stakeholders are concerned that the move represents an attack on the protocol's governance. COMP, the native token of the Compound lending protocol, fell more than 6% as the Decentralised Autonomous Organization (DAO) that runs the protocol was hit by a possible “governance attack.”

According to posts on the Compound forums, the attack on Compound's governance involved a series of coordinated efforts to manipulate the decision-making process on the platform through significant delegations of COMP tokens, led by a whale named Humpy, who attempted to allocate $24 million worth of COMP into a yield protocol he controlled called goldCOMP, run by a group known as the Golden Boys. This group made several attempts, and their last attempt finally succeeded.

OKX launches premarket futures for the Hamster Kombat token.

According to the OKX website, pre-market futures are settled in USDT. Typically, tokens in this format appear on the exchange website before the crypto asset is added to the listing on the spot market. In the game Hamster Combat, users need to click on the picture of a hamster as quickly as possible, or in other words, “tap the hamster.” For each click, the player can count on receiving in-game currency. The resulting coins can then be used to purchase upgrades in the game and accumulated in anticipation of listing on exchanges. Premarket futures for the USDT/HMSTR pair will become available on August 1 on the exchange’s website and app. The future delivery date has not yet been determined.
