Coinbase Stock Jumps After Announcing Bitcoin Partnership With BlackRock
BlackRock, the world’s largest money manager, announced a partnership with Coinbase Global on Thursday—some good news for an industry where layoffs and turmoil have become commonplace.
Coinbase shares, which have been on a tear this week, shot up again Thursday morning after the partnership was announced. The stock rose more than 30% when the market opened and was recently up about 14% at $91.82.
BlackRock’s institutional clients who also own digital assets on Coinbase will now be able to use Aladdin, the asset manager’s suite of software tools, to manage their portfolios and conduct risk analysis on investment decisions.
For now, the partnership applies only to bitcoin.

Solana announced the reason for hacking wallets. The culprit was the Slope mobile wallet app.
"Secret key information was inadvertently passed to the application monitoring service" - adds the team.
Slope confirmed that the hackers broke into a group of their private keys and expressed regret to all those affected. The company is now hiring auditors and leading security experts to investigate the crime.
Some developers also claim that Slope stored private key data on various centralized servers.

Gucci has announced that it is now accepting the BAYC token, ApeCoin, through a partnership with BitPay. The news confirms that Gucci will be the first store to accept ApeCoin as payment. This is currently only available to US customers at select luxury brand stores.

Meta Integrates With Coinbase Wallet, MetaMask; Expands NFT Scope
Meta on Thursday announced plans to expand NFT feature to 100 countries across Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and the Americas. This comes at the back of its grand plans to integrate Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) on social media platforms. The Meta NFT integration is aimed at allowing people to display NFTs as profile pictures. Going forward, Meta’s NFT plans could also pave way for the company’s own NFT market place.
Meta chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg has in the past revealed his vision on combining NFTs with Metaverse. He indicated that in Meta’s long term plans, NFTs will be a part of the Metaverse ecosystem. Meta said it would be rolling out digital collectibles on Facebook. It will also allow people to display and share NFTs as AR stickers in Instagram Stories.
