Did The US Government Just Declare War on Crypto?

 

On Monday, the U.S. Treasury Department added Ethereum coin mixer Tornado Cash, and a slew of addresses associated with the service, to its Specially Designated Nationals list—a classification typically reserved for terrorist organizations and enemy nations. 

 

In doing so, the Treasury effectively banned all Americans from using Tornado Cash, a tool that allows users to conceal the public trails of their cryptocurrency transactions by mixing many such transactions together. The Tornado Cash website has been unreachable for three days.

Coca-Cola has released an NFT collection on the Polygon blockchain

 

Coca-Cola continues its Web3 journey by launching its brand new NFT collection on the Polygon Network. After launching its first NFT collection in 2021, the American giant Coca-Cola released new NFT collectibles on “International Friendship Day.”

According to the statement they released this Sunday, The Coca-Cola Company recently AirDrop unique non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to people holding any of the 4,000 NFTs released by the brand since entering the Metaverse in July 2021. The bubbles inside a Coke bottle mainly inspire the design of these new NFTs.

UAE’s Biggest Discount Store Day To Day Accepts Bitcoin as Payment

 

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues down the path of doing its best to become a Bitcoin haven. The largest discount store in the country has announced that they will accept Bitcoin as payment in both its online and physical stores. The Khaleej Times hailed the move as a “next step into the future cryptocurrency.”

While other countries continue to push for regulation on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, the momentum for smaller countries accepting Bitcoin with open arms continues to develop. On the day that the U.S. announced they would be shutting down Tornado Cash, an Ethereum privacy protocol, the UAE continued to encourage Bitcoin development.

The UAE has already welcomed companies like Bybit, Binance, and FTX during the bear market and continues to establish itself as a hub for future development. The regulations in the UAE are so friendly that it is even rumored that Zhu Su and Kyle Davies, the notorious fund owners of Three Arrows Capital, were planning on escaping to the UAE. 

 

Bruce Lee's house will appear in the metaverse.

Cipher Mining is completing a facility at a wind farm in Texas.

 

The new facility will be able to produce up to 5.7 bitcoins per day, the company said in its Q2 results presentation.

 

Cipher is also gearing up to soon begin installation of equipment at its 205-megawatt site in Odessa, Texas, and plans to roll out production there during the second half of 2022.
